RECORDING EQUIPMENT

As a remote vocalist, I make sure that my recording environment and gear meet professional standards as closely as possible. My equipment allows me to deliver great audio quality files in .wav/48 kHz/24 bits, ready to be imported in a project and mixed.

SLATE DIGITAL ML-1 MIC DETAILS

The ML-1 microphone is the centerpiece of the Virtual Microphone System. This large diaphragm mic is renowned for its clean ‘blank canvas’ response that, when combined with the included Slate Digital microphone modeling software, can capture the signature tone and nuance of some of the most classic microphones in recording history.

This microphone is then capable of emulating the frequency response of several acclaimed microphones from around the world. When collaborating with me, composers can choose which emulation they want me to apply to my vocal take(s), such as the Neumann U87, AKG C12, or Sony C-800G. The choice is entirely up to their preference or the sound colour they are accustomed to. The most interesting aspect of this virtual system is that the model is applied post-recording, meaning that the original take remains untouched. This allows composers to change their minds and select another model even after the take is complete.
